Lynx in Janja Gora

Hello!

My name is Branko Šupica. I am a licensed tour guide in Croatia, specialized in cultural, natural and historical tours in my Lika region. Tours that inspire and leave you with the feeling that there is much more to this world than meets the eye. My whole life I've tried to reach behind the visible and commonly known to reveal the unknown, the beauty of hidden and mysterious. In search of this unique answer I have traveled around, lived on the edge, explored and learned. I was born and grew up in the mountains of Mala Kapela, the cradle of the famous Plitvice lakes and numerous fresh water springs, caves, caverns, ancient forests and civilization sites. Now, I feel the time has come to share it. I have put this experience together in guided tours that I organize for friends, family and guests interested in more than just plain sightseeing. Read on to find out.

While on your way to the Plitvice lakes and the Adriatic coast, take some time to hang around the Plaški area, 30 km away from the Plitvice lakes, still very untouched and raw, hiding secret tales of wide meadows and mysterious forests, clean water and crisp air.

Nature
There is an abundance of nice hiking trails that will take us through beautiful forests and alongside many springs of clean, fresh drinking water.
Here we can find one of the deepest springs ever found - Sinjac, over 200 m deep; one of the cleanest rivers of the world – Dretulja, more than 60 mountain springs, reappearing estavele lake Blata, unique in the world; countless caves and dense forests.

History and culture
Walk the places that old Japodi tribe has walked. Visit a Serbian orthodox church built in 1755 and many archeological sites that still await recognition and exploration, ruins of old castles and watermills, traces of recent wars and a number of other intriguing sites. The complex and interweaving relation between cultures and religions here can be felt right off the bat.

Taste it!
Our walks also take us to the local farmers where authentic honey, cheese and slivovic can be tasted.
We can join them in their daily work, ride one of their horses or have a lazy afternoon at one of the great peaceful places.

Creative
Visit the pottery shop 'Atelier Janja Gora', their growing sculpture park and a big wood fired kiln, unique in this part of Europe.
Express your own creativity by attending a workshop in ceramics..
